TIP OF THE DAY - THURSDAY

GET SCREENED. After age 20 you should get your cholesterol levels tested every five years. Discuss your results with your health care provider for recommendations. This test is a simple blood test and most doctors will allow you to come in the office and have it done with a phone call ahead of time and without seeing the doctor. Remember these tests are usually done first thing in the morning and require you to come fasting, no food after midnight.

  1. I had blood work done including cholesterol as part of all this chest pain stuff. Glad to say I am right in the range I should be. Everyone should have theirs checked if it's been awhile.
